Keyham and the West of City

Keyham Green Places (KGP)

We helped KGP to improve their garden space, helping them to successfully apply for a community grant and joining in with gardening activities. We also visit other activities at the centre, including Men's Shed, KGP community fun days, and Wellbeing Warriors youth group.

Wolseley Trust

We worked alongside Wolseley Trust to kickstart their gardening group with local residents. We supported planter making and vegetable growing, mini-pond creation and wormery setup, as well as improve accessibility around the garden and leaving spaces for wildlife to thrive.

Keyham Greenspace Improvements

Following on from Green Minds, we're continuing to deliver the greenspace improvements around Keyham that were co-designed and are being co-delivered with the local community. We host tree planting and meadow sowing opportunities, working in collaboration with Pollenize CIC, as well as making wildlife homes. Most recently, this has included organising path improvements and a mural creation at Marley Park, which was completed with Keyham Barton Primary and Creative Crossover CIC.

Weston Mill and St Budeaux

We are beginning to explore more opportunities in Weston Mill and St Budeaux, where we've brought nature-based activities to family hubs, libraries and the MVV Energy-from-waste plant. We're also working alongside the Plymouth National Marine Park to deliver joint activities at places like Kinterbury Creek.

Stoke

We continue to support the community groups around Stoke, like The Village Hubs, Friends of Blockhouse Park, and Stoke in Bloom. We've previously involved Stoke residents in Blossom campaigns, writing poetry and creating artwork, and more recently, supported improvements that Stoke in Bloom are delivering at Pasley Street Pocket Park.

Knowle Avenue Allotments

We supported Food Plymouth's Generous Earth team to setup a community composting site at Knowle Avenue allotments! The composting ridan is located in the Kintsugi garden, where the Kintsugi cooperative run gardening activities and a food bank. We continue to support these activities, and are also exploring opportunities across the allotments, including taking part in foraging walks, and facilitating an allotment course on disused plots.
