Flowers & fun at Foulston Park!

After co-designing planters with the local community, we recently joined Argyle Community Trust for a day of planting!

"I'm going to show my mum what I've done today!" – Bobby, Fit & Fed group

"I do gardening with my nan, so I know how to plant things." – Oscar, Fit & Fed group

"Can I name my plant?"

These were just some of the wonderful comments heard during last week's community planting day at Foulston Park.

Residents and local groups joined forces to plant pollinator-friendly flowers, create butterfly puddle stations and decorate pebbles for the park planters. Thanks to Green Communities, Action for Children and Argyle Community Trust, a struggling green corridor has been given a colourful boost, creating a more welcoming space for both people and wildlife.

Since the opening weekend at Foulston Park, we've been collating ideas on what people wanted to see in the planters. Pollinator friendly plants and herbs came out as the top themes. We hope more people will spend time in this outdoor space enjoying the nature around Devonport!
